Whether you have a boy or girl, raising kids has never been an easy task and it definitely requires lot of patience and confidence. It is quite common that kids sometimes seem to try on purpose to test your limits of patience.

However, in certain aspects you may find some difference in raising boys than girls. Somehow it’s been changed to boys being made of ‘fights, farts, and video games,’ and sometimes I’m not sure how much more we can take!

Not so fast, for the the girls, they have to contend with fussier fashion sense, more prickly social navigations, and a far greater capacity to hold a grudge. And as a daughter grows, a parent's concerns range from body image to math bias.

Boys and girls are each harder in different ways.
Every child is an individual, of course. His or her innate personality helps shape how life unfolds. Environment (including us, the nurturers) plays a role, too! "There are differences in how we handle boys and girls right from birth," says David Stein, Ph.D., a professor of psychology.
But it's also true that each gender's brain, and growth, unfolds at a different rate, influencing behavior. Experts believes parents raise girls and boys differently because girls and boys are so different from birth -- Their brains aren't wired the same way. We tend to talk more softly to girls and throw boys in the air!

So, can we finally answer the great parenting debate over which sex is more challenging to raise?I dont think so.
Not too cruel to mention,(kata orang dulu-dulu,jaga anak dara seorang macam jaga 20 ekor lembu!)Its kinda true, but I never wanna believe the myth(if i had a girl in future) coz they are born in new era, they are tends to be more open minded, modern educated and obviously our parenting style are totally different.

OMG,time really flies!NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Ryan is turning 9months old dalam 4jam lagi!!

His first step moment since 8months!!!And now walking unaided up to 17 steps(on video) then fall. He started to pull himself up since 5months and climb thencruise at 6 months and by 8months, he can walk quite fast with me holding his hand untill now. However, sometimes he is still trying to balance himself when walking on his own without any aid.He could nonetheless walk a few steps unaided when placed on the floor. He still feels more comfortable holding onto the wall as he could move faster from one place to another in a holding mode.He is not a fast walker(We were both early runners. His daddy can run at 9months,and I early 10months).But nevermind son,you are not ready yet, right?Take your time baby bam bam.

Watching him walk like a drunkard with his legs kangkang (wide opened… for better stability!) is really hilarious and he makes us laugh when we see him take his cute little steps.Having a baby who is learning to walk, run and talk now feels kind of enjoyable for everyday he brings you immeasurable happiness seeing his progress!!He is totally leaving his babyhood now..

Most paediatricians recommend starting your infant on Yogurt around 7-8 months of age. Some paediatricians also recommend yogurt as a great first food (from 6 months onwards). Selecting a Baby Yoplait Yogurt is the most beneficial to your infant as babies need fats in their diets for proper growth. And Yoplait Petit Miam for kids.

Baby Yoplait yogurt review:
*Baby Yoplait is specially formulated to be closer to breastmilk(Remember, yogurt is not substitute for breastmilk)
*No added sugar
*Balance of Whey&Casein(milk protein)
*Free from preservatives&colours
*Made from natural ingredients
*Has the live, friendly acidophillus and bifidobacteria cultures
*One serve a day containing a quarter of baby's calcium needs
*RM13 for 4 cups at Cold Storage or any hypermarket.

Yogurt and cheese are a bit special when it comes to these 2 foods being dairy products. Remember my recent post about cheesestick for young babies?Ryan totally loves dairy products such kraf cheesestick and baby yoplait yogurt(banana, vanilla, peach and pear) since he was 6months.Calcium needed throughout life to develop and maintain strong bones and growing teeth.

Gymboree Review
Ryan started Gymboree at 2 months and has been there since. He loves it at Kizsports Gymboree Class. He’s made plenty of friends and loves the many set-ups where he gets to test his developing skills on. I believe Ryan has reached his milestones earlier because of the fun exercises at Gymboree.

The Gymboree Learning Programme targets the earliest and most critical stages of a child’s life – before the age of 5. Their carefully crafted program levels focus on the specific developmental milestones a child is working on at his/ her age. Each class incorporates fundamental activities that help build a child’s cognitive, social, and physical skills.

Level 1 (Birth to 6 months)

The Thoughtful Observer – Becoming calm, attentive and interested in the world. There's exploration and stimulating age-appropriate activities like tummy time, flashlight play and infant massage to support visual and auditory skill development

Level 2 (6-10 months)

Ryan's currently at this stage. The Doer - acting with purpose and intent. Babies explore cause and effect and build strength with ramps, slides and climbers. Parent discussion time help mummies and daddies to learn about their child's development and to exchange information with other parents. Experts say engaging babies in playdates before a child turns 1 is really unnecessary as babies don't actually interact with each other. Babies tend to play together side by side, known as parallel play. Interaction happens because a parent gets involved.

Level 3 (10-16 months)

The Communicator - becoming an effective two-way communicator. Exercises at this level encourage balance and coordination on playscapes. Children also display ways of interacting with their peers.

The KizSports playland are open from 10-7pm every day.RM10 per entry(below 2years-50% 3pm-7pm).KizSports Gymboree also has per-term classes such Baby Signing,Little Crawlers,Little Rompers and ect(Newborn-5year-old).Jungle Gym also fun but Ill send Ryan to Jungle's when he is turning 3.Because Jungle Gym is more suitable for kids above 3(Sports activity).I wanna send Ryan to Kindermusik and Tumble Tots as well soon.

If you want to take your baby to a swimming pool or health club then a swim nappy is a must. Even at the beach, a swim nappy prevents your baby from leaving an unpleasant reminder in the sand or seawater. Having the right swim nappy for your baby can make swimming with your baby much more relaxing for you.

Taking your baby for a swim and splash around is great fun and can really build their confidence in the water.Worrying about your baby having a little accident in the water could put you off taking them at all. Normal swimwear gives no protection against accidents and ordinary nappies are not suitable - an ordinary disposable nappy would soak up the water and weigh your baby down.
They are also risky to use in a swimming pool because the absorbent core could burst out and cause problems in the pool filter system. Swim nappies are specially designed to avoid these problems. All swim nappies should have snug-fitting legs and waistband to contain the results of any accidents.
There are two main types of swim nappies that you can buy:
• Disposable swim nappies - like normal disposable nappies, these come in packs and each one is thrown away after use. They still have an absorbent core but one that does not swell up in the water.
• Reusable swim nappies - are made from soft, stretchy bathing suit material, which allows water to escape, but hopefully contains any solids. They can be washed and re-used after each use. Green baby.Hehe.Some reusable nappies have a concealed waterproof layer, like a pair of plastic pants within the nappy. Others have an inner mesh layer, which lets fluids through but retains solids.
If possible, try reusable swim nappies out on your baby before you buy. If you're out all day at the beach or at a holiday village pool, don't forget to rinse the nappy out or change your baby regularly, to prevent nappy rash.
My point of view is,I would prefer disposable swim pants Little Swimmers L(14kg and above)from Huggies.

As for me,I am not into baby cloth diapering(Just pakaikan sebagai his underwear coz they are cute and colourful design!).But recently,Ive found these cloth pantyliners(Panty Shields Organic) at The Curve(by Bonda Chemz).Wah..macam best je kan,so why not just buy it and try.Im using Laurier disposable pantyliners almost everyday.Just imagine I composed disposable pantiliners 365days times 5?!)

For the reusable cloth pantyliner, I can give it 5 stars because it can be washed and used over and over, which is better for the environment and they have wings that snap together and no sticky tape so no chance of them ever grabbing hold of things other then my undies.

But I would say,I am still using disposable type for traveling.Easy.Again,I am not a green mommy.

Ryan perfectly signed ''wave good bye'',''hungry'',''no'',''sleep'' and ''attention'' since early 8months.

And now he can clapping his hands when he is in excited mode.Mommy and daddy were very proud of you my little one! This does not make conner smarter than other babies, but he is just interactive. He mimicks everything since 6months.Whats next little Ryan?Yeah..HI-5!Good luck baby bam bam.

Every parents has high hopes for their children. As for me,by 8months is the best time to start teaching baby some course for home-school.I hoped my son able to read before 3.Insya Allah.

Of course every human can read once they go to school as soon as 3.But my point of view is,teaching them since their babyhood is a very good start to stimulati brain. At least they can immitate 'clap'/'kick'/'point'/'jump' and ect when they sees the words from phonic reading /flash cards or hand writing. As for Ryan,he loves to watch educational programmes on youtube, educatinal website,DVD or Play House Disney.Recently,he has started to focus more on his flash cards and his BumbleBee learning visual. He laugh and clap when he gets overly excited on some scences. He can remain seated and watch his BumbleBee Vocubulary for an hour!Hehe.

Instead of phonics learning thru DVD/website,have you heard of Little Reader course before?Click and subscibed the course for your little ones at www.littlereaders.com .Perhaps your baby can read by 12months?!Baby Felicity Wong(youtube.com-No Spam!) has finally proved her reading skill to the world that she can read more than hundred words at 13months!She just an ordinary baby girl but you know..''Nothing is impossible!''Come moms, lets give a try and good luck!!

Sitting there with a beautiful baby bump, you might be thinking ahead about what will happen when after giving birth. What will your post pregnancy body look like? And specifically; What will happen to your post pregnancy breasts?
Will I get saggy breasts?

Well, at first, if you breastfeed, your breasts will be larger than ever. They will be full, possibly somewhat tender (particularly in the beginning) and they might leak. But in any case you will have a really nice cleavage. As like mine, from 35D to 36Double D during 45days of confinement and my latest measurement is 35D back to static. But mine are just nice-of course sag a little bit..Better contoure than before I think..

But then…
After weaning your baby or if you decide not to breastfeed, the appearance of your breasts will take another route. Many women worry that breastfeeding will cause their breasts to sag.
Based on my experience..Its NOT TRUE!But,pregnancy will cause your breasts to sag and late in pregnancy is the biggest factor.

Since Ive been friendly requested by my blogger friend to discuss about this entry,I did a research on recent study, indicates that breastfeeding is not a predictor of saggy breasts. The study included 93 women of which 58% had a history of breastfeeding. 55% of the women noticed an adverse change in breast shape after pregnancy. And the breasts tend to sag more depending on the woman's age(first pregnancy on 30 above had the highest risk of breast sagging), higher BMI, greater number of pregnancies, larger pre pregnancy breasts and with smoking during breastfeeding(Silly-Memang cari pasal, kan). Breastfeeding could not be found as an independent risk factor for sagging breasts.

Now, if you're wondering what to do about your saggy breasts, breast augmentation such as implants and lifts are definately the most effective (but not very natural) way of breast enhancement. This is however expensive and has risks. I am totally disagree with this methods..

Unfortunately, pills and creams have very poor scientific evidence to actually make a difference in firming the breasts. Exercise may help a lot, as well as dealing with possible stretch marks that also affect the appearance of your boobs. As for me,during my pre and post confinement; I always put on my corsett/sports bra/nursing bra to tackle the contoure of my breast.I exercise yoga, body stretching and my husband used to massage them with breast enhancement mask after my shower. And its work!

There are so many factors that effect your breast that it cannot be put down just to breastfeeding.Remember, pregnancy makes your breasts grow and loosens/stretches the ligaments. Breastfeeding has nothing to do with it. If you've been pregnant, you will probably sag a bit ,specially if you're 30 and above... Unless you have really good genes.

If you do breastfeed and you do not support the babies weight very well, allowing it to pull down on your breast as it feeds -.Then I would say it could become a contributing factor to sagging of your breasts. However, I think that the three biggest factors that contribute to breast sagging would be age, having large breast during puberty and weightloss.Other things would be genetics, wearing an incorrect bra size, sleeping on your stomach, poor diet, not exercising.Lots of things which would each effect individuals differently. So, yes, it is a myth that makes them sag - But there is some truth that it can contribute if not done properly.Wears the right bra!!And do not sleep with tight/wired bras!Let them free!!

Breast feeding actually helps you easily lose weight(with proper diet and exercises), and its great for your baby.Your breast are definitely wont sag!

-Must show my bam bam hands holding my bam bam bottle-
Breastfed babies normally 'lazy'/'slower catch-up' to hold his own bottle milk,I guess.Because most of my 'boobies' friends said their babies only can hold the bottle perfectly around 10-12months.The babies just had the odd bottle. So,no worries :)

But one thing is,Ryan can perfectly drink and hold his own sippy training cup by 6 months. He sit and drink with heads-up.By 7months,he is finally hold his own bottle milk. When the bottle is tilted,he can put the teats back into his mouth. He can now grasp the bottle from the table and drink by himself. When he is mellow and in the mood for milk, he isn't interested in holding it. But when he's active and wants to hold it,he will hold it and finished up 8oz by himself!

But sometimes,he would throw his bottle---way far!Hehe. He does held his own anti-colic bottle around 4months(but he doesn't understand he must tilt it after he done.Especially when it is near empty)So I havent actively encouraged it yet,coz I am afraid of choking in infant!

Expert says holding his own bottle milk is not a milestone that is measured, because some babies can hold their own bottle as soon as 4-7months(But their intentions is 'JUST HOLD' .Which is the method is very dangerous!

Most women are worried their body after pregnancy. They might gain more weight.Absolutely. The stretch mark will always be here and there, but it doesn’t mean you cant do something about it.

There are many products that can take those stretch mark away. As for me,Im using Bio-Oil and Palmer's since 1st month of my pregnancy and I am very lucky coz didnt have any strectmark after delivery a baby.Just 2,3 pale lines.I am proud to be young mom and Im so thankful that I don’t have extra excess fat after delivered my son. Right now I came back to my normal weight 55kg over 75kg!!I had few friends who lost their weight after delivery a baby too. They are hot mom.

Undoubtedly, one of the most common questions women will ask after delivering a baby is, "What's the best way to lose my pregnancy weight fast?". The problem is, that losing weight, not just pregnancy weight, too fast is not the safest nor best method for the long term. Remember, it took at least six months to put that weight on. To expect to shed it in a week and a half is unrealistic. That said, there is no reason it has to take six months to get rid of either. With a good plan of diet and exercise, you can drop most, if not all of it in just a couple of months. Lucky for me, I found a great diet and exercise program designed by a professional trainer who specialized in dealing with pregnancy weight. Joining a program not only gave me the guidance and direction I was looking for, but it really boosted my confidence and self esteem. In other words, I was not alone.Join Marie France session!

One of the first things I learned about losing my pregnancy weight was to start right away. By this I don't mean that I started a 2 hour a day high impact workout the day I came home from the hospital. Rather, just take the first step. Put aside some time each day to start doing a few low impact exercises. Take fast strolls with your baby, swim a little if it's convenient to do, or maybe some light aerobics. Like many things in life, getting started is half the battle. One great jump-start to losing those pregnancy pounds is breast feeding. Much of the extra weight our bodies gained during pregnancy was done so to physically prepare us for breast feeding. When women opt not to breast feed, they are making the pregnancy pounds that much harder to lose. I, myself was on the fence about whether or not to breast feed, until it was explained to me just how beneficial it was, not only for my babies, but for me as well.

Another great reason to start losing the weight right away is that, for me anyway, psychologically you have sort of a head start. Having just delivered, you feel a little lighter and your clothes are instantly a little looser. Combine this with breast feeding, a nutritional diet, and a low impact exercise program and you'll be amazed at how much slimmer you'll feel in just a couple of months. Not only will you feel slimmer, but the compliments will start coming in as well. Obviously, this will be a great motivator to keep up with your program. As you continue, over the next couple of weeks you'll look and feel better and better. Seriously, it is not an unrealistic goal to lose most, if not all of your pregnancy weight in just a couple of months. If I could do it, so can you!!

At the age of 23, I just recently delivered healthy baby boy. By week 37 I was unbelievably huge like a mommy monster, coz I am tall. Yet I had a very comfortable and relaxed pregnancy.Swimming,yoga,dancing,massage,walking..And nobody, could believe how fast I was back to my pre-pregnancy shape. In fact, I've had so many people tell me they didn't believe it.Hahaha.Do I look like a single mingle woman-No husband? No kids??You're wrong! *Clapping* I am slightly chubby, but I dont have tummy and stretch mark!!My husband totally 'enjoy' my voluptious body!I am a WOMAN.I believe,YOU can!!
Mommy Stephanie Liah And Daddy Remy Rizal

Obesity in infant?Nah,its depend on the baby body built itself actually. Some babies may look small but fat, some looks like 'michellin' and some may look average built but tough and tall.As for Ryan ,he had a big frame and tall.Ryan's paediatician says he is a greedy baby and he's not that fat/obese,(Thank God) just very big for his age/over-weight.Unless he is very small/average but fat(weighing 16-18kg at 8months is considered obese) Paediatician says he is gonna be a tall boy and plumpy chubby ,so we are not worried. We are buying 12 & 18 month old clothes and XL diapers since he were 6months.His body frames, hands and feet were bigger than his friends than we known so far. And he is totally propotional for his height/weight/head.He is being compared to Americans. And yes,my mom is mixed caucasian.

But Im glad that my son able to achieve his milestones in advanced, some big baby makes it harder for them to get enough strength to sit, stand up and crawl by themself because there is more of them to move.Expert says, the baby's physical built does not influence their developmental milestones ..Its just a taboo when you heard someone tells you 'Anak I tak boleh merangkak lagi la,bontot berat../Anak I tak boleh duduk lagi la,kepala agak besar/Anak I tak boleh berdiri lagi la,badan berat sangat, semalam dah timbang 8kg''. 8kg tho?Real funny.

My husband and I are both tall and were both big babies, too.Ryan was born big and usually he drinks up to 34oz of milk, 2oz of vitamin baby juice and he is picky about solid food. He definitely tells me when he's full by smacking the bottle or spoon away and clamping his mouth shut. I know when to stop and so does he. I just hate the rude comments from other people saying that I feed him too much.Laugh out loud.Nak tengok anak I lapar ke?Healthy baby won't starve themselves,ok?

He is not a 'Ta Pui/Fatty Fei Mau' type. :) Who wants to be a fat boy/girl??Babies is fine, but not toddler/kids.Learn to deal with it.Owh,come on.Dont hate me for no reason just because Im saying that.Hating me wont make you beautiful, mommies.Learn to accept the fact..I either you, dont want to see the boys to grow up as a fat boy when he is reaching his puberty tho.Everywhere is rounded huh?For me, chubby is fine lah.Ok,Im done.Enough doting baby Ryan Raffael for today. So ya! :)

Every year parents spend thousands on toys and activities for their kids. While many of things are great for keeping young minds and bodies active, many of them are unnecessary. Sure kids need structured play, but they also need “free” plan and this is easy to do when the world’s largest playground is right outside your back door. Why not let them play outside?

Every toy, book, and TV show that comes out has been designed and redesigned several times in order to make it educational and entertaining for children. The great thing about nature is that, while being entertaining and stimulating to the imagination, it’s also educational. Nature can teach children the basics of science, economics, and creativity.

It’s cheap. Depending on where you live, exploring nature is usually pretty inexpensive, if not free. It may mean going out in your backyard, local park, or perhaps going to the local nature center or state park (which usually have low cost fees or memberships). This way, you don’t have to pay for expensive toys, jungle gyms, or memberships to expensive entertainment centers, but you still get the benefit of stimulating and educational play.

It makes them think. Lately there’s been a trend in education towards inquiry based learning. Researchers have found that if students explore and experiment to figure out answers on their own, they’re going to learn better, and retain more information. It also helps them develop skills to be able to learn things on their own later. What better environment to learn things than out in nature. There are lessons for kids of all ages to discover about the world around them.

It may help the world. Everyone these days is trying to be more green and more environmentally conscious. What better way to help do your part than to get your children interested in their own planet than right now when they’re young and impressionable? What might be a fun time for them now, might be a future hobby, career, or world saving invention.

It’s fun. While it’s easy to forget, childhood isn’t just for learning about how to be an adult, it’s also about having fun. Nature gives kids a chance to use their imagination and be free to just be kids. While unstructured play outside is great for kids, you can also find a lot of places offering structured classes and learning sessions for kids that focus on the natural world. Check your local park, zoo, or museum. There’s a good chance they have classes you can sign up for, and since many of these places are not for profit, they’re usually affordable as well as informative.Humans brain has multiple 'mirror neurons',so we learn from our eyes.

My point of view is,I still sending my son to gymboree, signing class or any indoor activity and buy him educational musical books, phonics learning DVD and flash cards to stimulating his infancy year. And yes, when he started to put his 'walking shoes' on,(Yes books and phonics learning visual are still number one)I would prefer outdoor as a second activity for him.Let him explore the nature!!
